Wot’s Cluck’in Down on the Farm review
Hacksaw Gaming
Hacksaw partner GoodTimes Studios has packed Wot’s Cluck’in Down on the Farm with considerably more than its familiar farmyard setting initially suggests. Chickens, pigs, cows and golden eggs hardly break new thematic ground, but the large grid and polished presentation provide a cheerful backdrop for a feature-heavy cluster slot. The real focus is the Cheeky Chicken Machine, which turns collected Coins into an assortment of effects capable of disrupting and improving the grid.
The game uses a 7x7 cluster-pays layout, requiring at least 5 matching symbols to connect horizontally or vertically. Winning clusters disappear through Cascades, allowing new symbols to fall into their positions. Medium-high volatility accompanies a default RTP of 96.26%, with bets ranging from €0.10 to €100 and payout potential reaching 15,000x the bet.
Coin symbols are collected by the Cheeky Chicken Machine and replaced with coloured Feature Eggs. Blue Eggs award an instant 5x–10x the bet, Red Eggs destroy adjacent regular symbols, and Green Eggs clear a complete row or column. Purple Eggs add between 2 and 10 Wilds, while Orange Eggs apply an x2, x3, x4 or x5 multiplier to the current spin's total win, with multiple Orange Egg multipliers added together. A separate Max Win Wheel can also trigger randomly, awarding one of ten fixed prizes ranging from 5x to 15,000x the bet.
Three, four or five Scatters award 10, 12 or 15 Free Spins. Each spin begins with 1–3 Golden Eggs placed onto random positions, acting as multiplier Wilds. They initially carry an x1 multiplier, which doubles every time the Egg contributes to a winning cluster, potentially reaching x1,024. After participating in a win, the Egg moves to an empty position within the area cleared by that cluster and can become involved again during subsequent Cascades. When several Golden Eggs contribute to the same cluster, multipliers of x2 or higher are added together.
Golden Eggs normally disappear when the current Free Spin ends, but there's an additional use for those appearing on dead spins. These are stored in a Piggy Bank until the final Free Spin, when the presence of stored Eggs adds another Golden Egg carrying a random x2-x10 multiplier. Free Spins cannot be retriggered. Enhanced modes include 3x BonusHunt FeatureSpins, 50x Cheeky Coin Chase FeatureSpins, a 100x Golden Eggs Drop Frenzy purchase and a 250x Loot Box.
Wot’s Cluck’in Down on the Farm doesn't score many points for its theme, but mechanically there's quite a lot happening beneath the cheerful farmyard exterior. The Feature Eggs make the base game less dependent on simply waiting for a bonus, while the moving Golden Eggs are the more interesting idea, particularly when repeated Cascades allow their multipliers to double several times within one spin. Throwing a random 15,000x wheel prize into the mix feels somewhat disconnected from everything else, but the core cluster mechanics are strong enough without it. GoodTimes Studios hasn't reinvented cluster pays here, yet the combination of varied grid modifiers and escalating Golden Egg multipliers gives the game enough substance to rise above its otherwise very conventional setting.
